About the cabin
The cabin rests at the end of Alumdale road, Bournemouth, it is fortunately located within a conservation area which boasts woodland beauty and wildlife within a salubrious and friendly residential area just 5 minutes’ walk up the chine from the award-winning Alum chine beach. It is in an elevated position, sheltered by trees, in a private plot on top of the slopes of the chine. Its lofted position helps to exploit the local sunshine and shield it from the sea breeze. Its sun decking cantilevers out over the Chine giving unique 270-degree views, surrounding you in a natural, peaceful and bright environment.
Alum chine log cabin is situated near a quieter part of Bournemouth’s seven-mile beach, this guarantees you enough space on the sand for your family during the busy holidays, and ensures the calming escape you want when you retreat to the cabin for a rest. It is a 12 minute walk to Westbourne’s many trendy award-winning restaurants, bars, cafes and boutiques. Or if you prefer it is a 20 minute walk to Bournemouth’s busy shopping and nightlife district. In short, the location provides all the amenities of modern town life with the all the healthy benefits of contemporary country living.

Welcome to Alum Chine Log Cabin! We are really pleased to be able to open up again & have worked hard to make relevant adjustments to meet the new guidelines for COVID-19. These changes do not affect you too much as the guest, but we thought you might like to know what we are doing in the background in order to make your stay as safe as possible.
Although our professional cleaning company was previously carrying out a very thorough clean using all appropriate cleaning products, as you can imagine certain guidelines have now changed due to COVID-19. They are following a more extensive cleaning protocol in line with COVID-19 guidelines.
As per guidelines, the cabin will be left untouched for 3 hours following check out.
Protective gear such as gloves, masks & aprons will be worn when cleaning the cabin & fresh PPE when preparing the cabin for new guests.
Within the cabin there will be disposable gloves, disinfectant spray, wipes & bleach in order for you to clean during your stay if you so wish.
All hand soap provided in the soap dispensers is antibacterial.
Cleaning products & disinfectants approved by global health agencies.
We use a 5 step cleaning process; Prepare, Clean, Sanitise, Check & Reset.
Whilst we do usually clean all kitchen items regularly, we have kept the very regularly used items to a minimum (such as mugs, glasses, plates, bowls etc). In doing so, this allows us to put all of these items through the dishwasher after each check out regardless of whether they have been used or not. However, we do recommend that you wash less regularly used items (such as wine glasses, pots & pans) prior to the first use.
Although we cannot wash the curtains after each stay, we will be using disinfectant spray as part of each clean to reduce infection risk.
All rooms will be ventilated during the cleaning process.
All laundry & towels will be washed at the highest heat setting recommended by the manufacturer.
All soft furnishings, such as scatter cushions & seat cushions have been removed along with books, cards & board games. This has been done, as they cannot be cleaned sufficiently often in between guests.
We are no longer able to supply tea, coffee & sugar as we would normally. However, we will ensure that you have a small supply that are individually wrapped to welcome you to the cabin.
To achieve the above, on certain days we may be required to adjust the check in/check out times slightly. Therefore, please don’t expect check in to be any earlier than 4pm unless we inform you otherwise & check out will now be at 10am.
We do hope that you understand why this must happen & we hope you have a wonderful stay.
